Lockdown Stories... Home of Feast
Home of Feast Supper Club + Refill Store. Over a number of years Alison and Sharon have dreamt of doing something creative with food. Having hosted many dinner parties for family and friends they came upon the idea of hosting a supperclub. At the start of 2019 they had the opportunity to do so, starting at just one event they were overwhelmed at the support then that event soon became a monthly date in the calendar. This was brought to an abrupt end in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Both refused to be down hearted and used their time through lockdown to really think about the future for Feast Supperclub. In June 2020, we began the renovation of The Old Chapel on Mill Street in Buglawton to transformed it into the unique place it is today, offering not only a stunning dining experience but a beautiful venue.
Alongside the supperclub and events space they also have created a Refill store proving a popular alternative to supermarket shopping for many searching for an more sustainable way to shop and reduce single use plastic and packaging. They offer staple goods such a wide selections of flours, sugars, oats and grains, herbs and spices, pasta, pulses, nuts and chocolate treats along with a produce section selling tahini, chickpeas, stuffed aubergines, preserved lemons and much more. Freshly baked cakes everyday can be taken away or enjoyed in the upstairs dining room with coffee or tea.
Our store gives you the ability to bring along your own containers and weigh the products you want in the measurements you need. We are the first refill store to open in Congleton focused on pasta’s, flour, herbs, spices and other cupboard essentials. We carefully select our products and are continually adding new and exciting ingredients all the time.
On Saturday they sell freshly baked bread from Flour Water Salt Bakery in Macclesfield along with other homemade savouries which change all the time.
If you are time poor you can email them with your order and they will happily get it ready for you to collect, a full produce list is available on the website www.homeoffeast.co.uk
Their aim is to provide a unique service that is constantly evolving to offer what we feel the community needs. Please pop in to say hello or keep an eye on social media, Facebook or Instagram for all updates on events.
